This position is responsible for coordinating and conducting business research and academic program evaluation efforts for a variety of Business Development programs throughout Missouri. Responsible for leading, implementing, and analyzing applied research, evaluation efforts, and data collection, as well as providing expert advice and assistance with gathering and interpreting data.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Carry out and/or lead applied research project teams inside BRIDG for Business Development Programs throughout Missouri using proprietary databases and database tools such as (but not limited to) ESRI, BizMiner, InfoUSA, IBIS, Lexis/Nexis, Factiva, Business Source Premier, and others to generate marketing-related reports and analyses such as (but not limited to) competitor analyses, market analyses, and potential business to business customer lists. In addition, generate reports and/or analyses of other topics supporting the Business Development Program either from secondary data sources or from primary research as needed by the BRIDG Director.
Perform moderately complex analytical work involving the collection, processing, and interpretation of statewide business development program evaluation data either from WebCats or supplemental data sources for purposes of providing relevant and timely information to management, faculty, and stakeholders as well as generating regular reports needed for grants and other stakeholder from WebCats under the direction of the BRIDG Director. Duties include qualitative and quantitative analysis, and identifying and resolving errors and potential problems to ensure validity of data used in ongoing or one-time reporting for management or grant related purposes. Work closely with technology programmers to troubleshoot databases and other technologies used to ensure integrity of data gathered. Must ensure practices are research-based and are conducted according to the guidelines supported by the American Evaluation Association.
Communicate results and findings to internal and external stakeholders, including developing and providing presentations and written reports. Develop and present reports including responding to grant requirements and stakeholder communications. Ensure written and verbal communication is professional and information is research-based. Provide coordination, authorization, and/or assistance with developing literature, publications, and grant preparation.
Serve as the liaison on various projects with stakeholders and partners, including responding to inquiries, reports, and grant requirements. Provide research, knowledge, training and professional assistance to faculty and executive administration with identifying and conducting effective research and evaluation strategies, as well as respond to various inquiries or concerns regarding operating procedures.
Work to expand current academic program evaluation and research efforts to attract and retain additional funding and educational opportunities. Ensure evaluations are conducted in a valid and reliable manner to make certain results are publishable and IRB compliant.
Responsible for administrative and functional supervision of office support staff., including hiring, training, delegation of duties, and evaluation of performance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with relevant course work plus 2 years of experience in business research, database research, program evaluation, and/or database management and analysis.
Relevant course work and experience includes evaluation design, planning, implementation and reporting; quantitative and qualitative methodologies; instrument development; data collection and management; impact reporting; program evaluation research methods and objectives; business management, or related fields of study.
Additional Preferred Qualification:
Masters degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience in database research and program evaluation.
Active member of the American Evaluation Association.
Knowledge of entrepreneurship and business programs helpful.
Salary/Benefits: $36,000-44,000 (based on applicable experience)
