Extension Agricultural Engineer, University of Vermont University of Vermont Extension seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor to focus on applied engineering process enhancement within local food and agricultural enterprises. This is a full time, 12-month, non-tenure track position located in Rutland, Vermont. It will serve businesses, entrepreneurs, farmers, public agencies, and non-profits to support the analysis, design, evaluation and adoption of infrastructure and equipment that meets the needs of relatively small-scale food producers and processors. Candidates must have an advanced degree, Ph.D. preferred, in agricultural, civil or mechanical engineering or a closely related field, plus experience in solving applied engineering problems in food production and/or processing, a practical understanding of small business operations, strong written and oral communication skills, project management skills and the ability to work with different kinds of people toward a common goal.
